About The Paintings

How close to the originals are your reproductions?

They are not identical but they are as close to being so as possible. The artists who paint our reproductions are talented professional painters, often specialised in the works of a particular painter or in a particular painting school.

Do you have original art as well?

Yes, we do and we will be adding to the amount of original work we carry. Right now, we feature a very talented Australian artist, Andrea Bunyevich.

Are they really original oil paintings - or prints?

The oil paintings on our site are 100% oil paintings, painted from scratch by our talented artists.

They start with a blank canvas, draw in the outline of the painting - and then paint it in oil.

Do you have a catalogue? A show room or gallery?

Our catalogue is our website. We continually add to the paintings we carry there, so it would be very expensive and a little impractical to print a catalogue. Neither do we have a showroom or gallery, because our customers are located all over the world.

Why don't you frame the paintings?

Shipping framed paintings is both very expensive and hazardous, with damage en-route being frequent. We believe it is preferable for our customers to go to a local framer, where they can also discuss which kind of frame is best for their painting.

I have seen lower prices elsewhere

We do not wish to deal at the bottom end of the market, with the sort of paintings you see in bazaars or penny-shops. We want our customers to be proud when they see our paintings up on their walls and neighbours and friends comment admiringly. We want them to be pleased with the warmth and elegance that lovely oil paintings will give their rooms. Having said all that, we believe our paintings are terrific value, considering their quality.

Can i buy sizes other than the ones you show?

The sizes on our website are the most frequent ones ordered, but you can have any size you want. simply send us an email with the size you would like and we will send you back the price within 24 hours. (you should be careful, though, not to buy sizes which turn out to be too large for your rooms. A large painting can be absolutely fine in a gallery or art museum, but can be out of proportion in a normal domestic setting.)

What about paintings you don't show on your website?

Yes - simply send us a digital photo of the painting or, if it is well known, send us the name of the painting and of the artist and we will find it. In this case, we will email you a photo of the painting, to ensure that we are talking about the same one. Again, we will email you a price within 24 hours.

Can you do portraits?

Absolutely! Simply send us at least one digital photo - but preferably various photos - of the subject.

Our portraits make unusual and delightful gifts in a variety of circumstances - between spouses or of their children, anniversaries, grandparents, business portraits, perhaps to mark a milestone of some kind. A portrait makes a unique gift to celebrate special occasions or simply to mark a particular point in time.
